Anthony Lau will join the engineering faculty as assistant professor of biomedical engineering in the Fall Semester 2015. Dr. Lau obtained his B.S.E in Biomedical and Electrical Engineering at Duke University in 2005 and completed his PhD in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Virginia’s Center for Applied Biomechanics in 2011.
He performed his postdoctoral training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and was awarded a National Space Biomedical Research Institute Postdoctoral Fellowship to investigate studying changes in bone strength and structural efficiency in mice flown on Space Shuttle Mission STS-135.
His research interests include: Musculoskeletal and injury biomechanics using a multi-length scale approach involving biomechanical experimentation, quantitative medical image processing, and computational modeling.
