We congratulate Dr. Anthony Lau on his being awarded reappointment with tenure and promotion to Associate Professor beginning the 2020/2021 academic year. Dr. Lau was appointed as a full-time faculty member in the Department of Biomedical Engineering in August 2015. Since then, he has exhibited excellence in undergraduate teaching, especially in his primary expertise area of biomechanics. He has established a robust and student-focused research program investigating how bone strength is affected by microstructural and material property changes in response to conditions related to long duration space travel (e.g. micro-gravity and space radiation exposure) as well as other pathological conditions leading to osteoporotic bone degeneration. He is regularly sought out by TCNJ students for his research mentorship, which has culminated in peer-reviewed publications and numerous presentations at national scientific conferences.
